Indian dresses are probably my favourite clothing style to photograph. The colour, detail, jewellery and designs are gorgeous. I've gotten quite used to photographing models in clothing that doesn't really have much texture or detail to it, so when I get the chance to photograph a dress like this one it really is a treat! This dress is from Royal Boutique Calgary, and this isn't the only shoot I've done with them. They have a wide variety of gorgeous Indian dresses. I've also been lucky enough to shoot with Anisse on multiple occasions. I believe this was our first time shooting in my studio though, and I must say, while I'm a big gear junkie and I love having lots of different lights and modifiers, my favourite photos from this shoot are the shots with the black background where I was only using one light. Sometimes simple is better, and it does go to show that you don't need to spend a fortune on lighting equipment to get great looking studio shots. Anisse's hair and makeup was done by Divine Glow Artistry, which specializes in Indian Bridal hair and makeup work.
